Visit our campus of eight historic buildings dating from 1819 to about 1890 along with a small waterfront park beside the shores of Deep Cove on the western side of our island community near Shackford Head State Park. Take a self guided walking tour of our centrally located buildings all within a six block area of the downtown Eastport, Muselenk (Moose Island), Maine waterfront and neighboring historic residential area. Experience the span of historic 19th century architecture of the eastern coast of Maine. Our buildings date from 1819 to about 1890 and reflect architectural styles ranging from the Federal period (our two church buildings of 1819 and 1828) through the Victorian period (our two downtown commercial buildings of 1887). A map card to our historic buildings in Eastport, Maine is available at our main building. A Campus Map version of the map card is available online. And a description of all of our properties and nine historic buildings is also available online through Cultural Places/Creative Spaces.
Some of our buildings are open regularly, and others open only during special events or by appointment. Please contact us to inquire at (207) 853-4047 or tides@tidesinstitute.org.
