Rising Tides is a multi-year capital campaign that serves as a capstone to the Tides Institute’s 21 year effort to create the eastern coast of Maine region’s first significant cultural institution that can serve as both cultural anchor and cultural catalyst for the region and connect it to the broader world. The campaign’s centerpiece is the restoration, redevelopment and transformation of the historic Masonic Hall building into the Tides Institute’s main museum building with expanded and climate controlled exhibition and collection spaces. The campaign will see the continued restoration and redevelopment of the Tides Institute’s eight other buildings that serve as a regional campus of cultural places acting as creative spaces and that contribute to the region’s vitality, economic well-being and distinctive character.
