The Tides Institute & Museum of Art (TIMA) serves as both cultural catalyst and cultural anchor. TIMA has broad interests (art, architecture, history) and works with a range of partners (local, regional, national). We are as interested in fostering new works as in collecting existing works. We have a growing artist residency program, now in its fifth year, with artists coming from throughout the U.S. and increasingly the world to work in our downtown studio facility and our developing North Church facility. We have the largest and most significant cultural collections that reflect our U.S./Canada border region and connect it to a broader world — from art to architecture, from furniture to fisheries, from maps to ship models. Our exhibitions, educational workshops, and regional revitalization efforts continue to expand from our oversight of two downtown facade programs to our two downtown historic buildings to our Artsipelago regional cultural guide and studio tour. Our campus of six buildings preserve and reflect the region’s architectural heritage while repurposing them with 21st century activities. None of these efforts are possible without continuing broad support — from foundations, businesses, individuals, and government. Please consider making a donation to the Tides Institute & Museum of Art.
