Masonic Building Dinners, August 6 & 7, 2021, 6 pm

The Tides Institute & Museum of Art (TIMA) hosted two special dinners in early August on the ground floor of its historic 1887 Masonic Building located at 32 Water Street in downtown Eastport, Maine. Volunteer chefs Audrey Patterson of North Perry, Maine and Brennin Consalvi, who grew up in North Perry and was mentored by Patterson, prepared the dinners. The two dinners, held Friday, August 6 and Saturday, August 7 had contrasting menus with Friday’s more land-based and Saturday’s more sea-based. Vegan selections for both dinners were included as was wine and beer and other beverages. Background music was also provided. Both dinners started at 6 pm. The cost was $50 per person and seats had to be reserved and paid in advance. Seating was limited to 20 people per dinner. Hugh French, director of TIMA, said “We wanted to do these two dinners to suggest what is to come with the Masonic Building as we develop it. We also want to talk a bit about our plans for the building and to gain some feedback from diners.”
