Cottage Craft
The Cottage Craft collection includes items related to the Cottage Craft initiative that began in 1911 in St. Andrews, Charlotte County, New Brunswick. Founded and led by Grace Helen Mowat, Cottage Craft focused on traditional rural crafts such as knitting, weaving, rug hooking and pottery to provide work and cash for financially strapped rural women of Charlotte County. The collection includes examples of crafts produced during this time along with related printed materials.
