Oral History
The Oral History collection consists of over 150 hours of mostly analog cassette tape recorded interviews conducted in the late 1970s and early 1980s with older residents of Eastport, Maine. Many of these recordings focus on the early workings and life of the sardine industry of the late 19th, early 20th century when the industry was at its height. Other recordings focus on the early 20th century Eastport waterfront and daily life during this time. The entire collection is currently being digitized.
