Objective: Explore ways to increase water based transportation to cultural activities in the greater Passamaquoddy Bay region even if only ocaasionally for specific events.
Through the 19th to the mid-20th centuries, ferries criss-crossed the Bay and linked the various communities that ring the Bay. Today, there is much less water based traffic.
In 2012, Artsipelago, an annual cultural guide to the greater Passamaquoddy Bay region, was developed and, in addition to featuring cultural organizations and activities found throughout the region, the guide also highlighted existing ferry services in the region. 2016 will mark the fifth edition of Artsipelago.
