![]() HE History of the Islands and Islets of the Bay of Fundy by
J.G. Lorimer was published in 1876 - making it one of the earliest histories of the
Quoddy region. Jonathan Weston's A History of Eastport published in 1832
can be considered the earliest. Lorimer's work covers the history of the New
Brunswick islands of Quoddy: principally, Campobello, Deer Island and Grand Manan
with brief accounts relating to Indian Island and Machias Seal Island. Below can
be found a Table of Contents to Lorimer's work with links to pages within each
chapter. As noted on the main Digital Library page, the pages are scanned image
files from the original work and have not yet had an additional conversion to
straight text which will allow the work to be fully searchable. This conversion will
occur over the coming year and a search feature will then be found on this page.
