HIS is a QuickTime VR (Virtual Reality) 360 degree panorama (high resolution) of the main bank room of the former Eastport Savings Bank building in downtown Eastport, Maine. The building was built in 1887 and operated as a bank for more than a century. A series of windows line three sides of the room and offer a remarkable 270 degree sweeping view of Eastport's downtown architecture constructed between 1882 and 1893. As part of the Tides Institute's plans to restore this room, the wood wall paneling will be removed to expose the original plaster walls. The suspended tile ceiling will be removed to expose the original tin ceiling.
