 THE TIDES INSTITUTE & MUSEUM OF ART is a broad based initiative to establish a significant cultural institution on the border between New England and the Atlantic Provinces with a reach throughout the Passamaquoddy region, into New England and the Atlantic Provinces, and the world beyond. It is a ambitious and difficult initiative that will take many years to complete. THE BUILDING CAMPAIGN involves the restoration and expansion of the historic former Eastport Savings Bank building to house and exhibit cultural works, particularly art; to foster new cultural works, particularly through printmaking; and to serve as a hub to foster greater cultural links and shared resources between people and institutions throughout the greater Passamaquoddy region, and between New England and the Atlantic Provinces. THE CAMPAIGN is currently in its second phase after successfully raising privately over $350,000 to complete the first phase.
