Charles Caleb Ward. "Passamaquoddy Youths on the Cliffs of
Grand Manan, New Brunswick." Watercolor. 1869.
Purchased with support from the Passamaquoddy Fund, 2005.

The Passamaquoddy Fund for Art and Culture is a permanent fund that was formally established in 2004 with support from the Figure Foundation to aid in the acquisition of significant works of art and, on occasion, other cultural items. The Passamaquoddy Fund builds upon earlier acquisition efforts including the successful acquition of a painting by Victor DeGrailly, "View of Passamaquoddy Bay," c. 1840 that was acquired in 2002. Since its establishment, the Passamaquoddy Fund has allowed for the acquisition of several works including two paintings by Charles Caleb Ward, a John James Audubon Havell edition print, and a drawing by Martin Johnson Heade, to name but a few. Individuals wishing to contribute to expand and continue the fund's purpose to help cover the ongoing costs of acquisitions can contact the Tides Institute and Museum of Art at P.O. Box 161, Eastport, Maine 04631. Or by telephone (207) 853-4047 or email: tides@tidesinstitute.org.
