‘Eastport Recites’ showcases the literary passions of Eastport residents and business people, who will be reading selections that they love for the enjoyment of the community. The first annual CD, Eastport Recites 2013 will be released during a New Year's Eve event at the library at 5:30 pm on Monday, December 31st. CDs will be available for a minimum donation of $10.00. Everyone is invited to come celebrate--listen to live readings, enjoy warm beverages and light refreshments, and share in holiday spirit while supporting the library's ability to continue providing the services that have been so valuable to the community for nearly 120 years.
A wonderful example of Romanesque Revival architecture, the library collection also includes a display of paintings by Dougal Anderson, George Pierce Ennis, and others.

Tides Institute & Museum of Art (TIMA)
Second floor: Midnight AT to Midnight ET Music Hour featuring Alan Cook on guitar and fiddle performing original music and favorite tunes from 10:30 pm – 12:00 am. Specializing in American roots music, Alan guides his listeners through an eclectic presentation that weaves many emotions and musical genres. Sardine tastings, exhibition of works from the permanent collection and the new exhibition of a jointly created work by Passamaquoddy traditional artist, David Moses Bridges and sculptor, Richard VanBuren.
Out front in Bank Square: Special appearances by The New Year’s Eve Brass Band performing to welcome the New Year with O’Canada to accompany the Maple Leaf Drop at 12 midnight AT-Atlantic time (11:00 pm ET) and Auld Lang Syne for the Great Sardine Drop at 12 midnight ET-Eastern time.
TIMA is located in the former Eastport Savings Bank Building, a three-story award winning restoration of an 1887 National Register of Historic Places anchor property in downtown Eastport, Maine.
